Parlement & Citoyens, a web platform to connect citizens and parliamentarians about laws

Parlement & Citoyens is a web platform wich allow members of parliament to associate citizens while working on new law proposals.

Created in January 2012, non profit organization “Démocratie Ouverte” aims to promote a democracy based on three principles: transparency, engagement and collaboration.

The consultations organized on the platform are opened by Members of Parliament and senators who wish to associate citizens to their future law.

Today, nearly 6,920 citizens are registered, and on the whole more than 14,480 registered voters (citizens, profit and non-profit organizations, institutions, members of Parliament). It is also more than 450 ideas suggested and  already 9 held consultations.

Currently, “Parlement & Citoyens” is part of the 5 finalists of World Summit Award, a contest which rewards the best digital innovations!

The “Parlement & Citoyens” initiative echoes other initiatives such as Voxe: the comparator of political programs. Issued after french presidential election of 2012, Voxe aims to use the digital tools to compare proposals from all candidates to young people. Hoping to bring back involvement from the youth in the political life.
